Pleasant Park is an apt name for the neighbourhood where our clients bought this home in 2022 to raise their family. The problem was, their kitchen was outdated, cluttered and cut off from the rest of the home. We were able to overcome those challenges by partially removing a wall and putting in the structural supports that the home needed. Our clients wanted to keep, but refurbish and reface, the old fireplace to create ambiance in their dining room. This also created the effect of having additional privacy between the dining area and living space.
While we were working on the project we noticed that the home lacked insulation, and so we upgraded the insulation in the walls and the ceiling. The added bonus is that we added soundproofing in the ceiling between the kitchen and the bedrooms, which allows the parents to host dinner parties while their kids sleep peacefully upstairs. While we were at it, we installed all new flooring throughout the main floor area, built in a window nook, and removed the popcorn ceilings and painted the entire area. The kitchen, dining and living rooms are now bright, functional and pleasant, just as they should be!
